How to Describe the Condition of Your Item

✨ Condition Guide

One important part of listing your item is choosing the correct Condition. Clear, honest condition descriptions help buyers shop confidently and reduce questions or returns. Use the guide below to choose the best match for your item.

New With Tags (NWT)

The item is brand new, never worn, and still has the original retail tags attached.

Examples:

  • Purchased but never used

  • Still has store or brand tags

  • No signs of wear

If your item is brand new but the tags are missing, choose NWOT instead.

New Without Tags (NWOT)

The item is brand new and never worn, but the original tags are no longer attached.

Examples:

  • Tried on at home but never worn out

  • Tags removed but item is unused

  • No signs of wear, fading, or washing

Excellent Used Condition (EUC)

The item has been worn once or a few times and looks almost new.

Examples:

  • No visible signs of wear

  • No pilling, fading, or stretching

  • Fabric and logos look crisp

  • Seams, straps, and zippers are intact

This is your “Like New” category.

Good Used Condition (GUC)

The item has been worn and shows light, normal signs of use, but is still in great shape.

Examples:

  • Minor pilling or light wash wear

  • Small, non‑distracting imperfections

  • Slight fading or minor loose threads

  • Fully functional and wearable

Be sure to mention any details a buyer should know before purchasing.

Very Used Condition (VUC)

The item has noticeable wear but is still usable and meets Class Threads’ quality standards.

Examples:

  • Fading or discoloration

  • Visible pilling

  • Wear on cuffs, hems, or logos

  • Minor flaws that don’t affect function

Inspect carefully — seams, straps, zippers, and hidden areas are easy to overlook.

🧼 Items That Cannot Be Listed

Refer to Prohibited Items Policy.

  • Stains, holes, odors, or damage that affects wear

  • Missing size labels or logos

  • Alterations not clearly disclosed

  • Excessively worn or damaged items

This keeps the marketplace clean, safe, and school‑aligned.
