Shipping policy

📦 Overview

Class Threads is a community marketplace used by students, parents, alumni, and schools. Buyers choose how they want to receive their items at checkout: Free Local Pickup or Delivery. Delivery may be completed by shipping or local drop‑off, depending on what the seller decides is most practical.

For shipped orders, a standardized delivery credit is applied to help offset packaging and postage. Sellers earn the delivery credit once delivery is fulfilled, and it is included in their next payout.

Class Threads currently supports shipping only within the continental United States.

🏡 Local pickup (free)

Local pickup is the primary way items are exchanged on Class Threads.

  • Buyers and sellers coordinate meeting times and locations directly.

  • Public, well‑lit locations are recommended.

  • Meeting at a home address is allowed only if both parties agree.

  • School pickup or drop‑off may be used if both parties agree.

  • Buyers are responsible for inspecting the item thoroughly before completing the exchange.

  • Once the item is accepted in person, the sale is considered final.

Class Threads does not supervise or monitor in‑person exchanges.

🚗 Delivery (shipping or local drop‑off to the buyer’s address)

If the buyer selects delivery at checkout, the seller must deliver the item directly to the buyer’s provided address. Delivery may be completed by:

  • Shipping through any carrier, or

  • Local drop‑off to the buyer’s address

Sellers earn a standardized delivery credit and are responsible for managing the delivery process.

If the seller ships the item:

  • The seller selects the carrier, packaging, and shipping method.

  • The seller is responsible for providing tracking information.

  • The buyer must provide an accurate shipping address.

  • Class Threads does not provide shipping labels, packaging, or insurance.

  • Class Threads does not handle lost packages, delays, or carrier disputes.

  • All delivery‑related issues must be resolved directly between the buyer and seller.

Shipping is limited to the continental United States.

📦 Seller Shipping Responsibilities

When a buyer selects delivery, sellers are responsible for packaging and shipping the item using any carrier they prefer (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.). Sellers must:

  • Package the item securely so it arrives in the condition described

  • Ship the item within 3 business days

  • Enter a valid tracking number on the Order in their Seller Dashboard

  • Ensure the buyer’s address is used exactly as provided

Class Threads does not provide shipping labels, packaging, or insurance. All shipping‑related decisions (carrier, service level, packaging, and postage) are made by the seller.

⏱️ Reporting issues with delivered or shipped orders (48‑hour window)

Buyers must contact the seller within 48 hours of:

  • the carrier‑marked delivery date (if shipped), or

  • the time the seller confirms local delivery to the buyer’s address on the Order in their Seller Dashboard

…if there is an issue such as an item not received, damaged, or significantly not as described.

Buyers and sellers communicate directly to resolve the issue.

Class Threads does not mediate disputes or manage return logistics.

The 48‑hour window ensures timely communication and prevents late claims.

âť— Cancellations (before delivery or shipment)

A cancellation may occur only before the item has been shipped or delivered.

  • If an order is canceled before the item is shipped or delivered, the buyer receives a refund of the order total.

  • If the item has already shipped or been delivered, the order can no longer be canceled and instead follows the Returns & Refunds Policy.

  • Sellers may cancel an order before delivery or shipment if the item is unavailable or if the buyer’s address is invalid.

  • Refunds for canceled orders are processed using the funds held for that order.

Transaction Fees on Cancellations Payment processors do not refund transaction fees on canceled orders. For this reason, a non‑refundable processing fee may be deducted from the refund amount when an order is canceled. This fee is not charged by Class Threads; it reflects the cost retained by the payment processor.

This keeps cancellations simple and consistent with your delivery and return rules.

  • act as a party to any transaction

  • supervise or verify in‑person exchanges
