🧰 Seller FAQ

How do I list an item for sale on Class Threads?

Is your school available on Class Threads? If not, contact us and we’ll set it up immediately. Once available, you can list items and start selling for free.

Follow these steps to list your item for sale on Class Threads.

🧵 Important: Entering the Size

How to Add the Correct Size When Listing Your Item

To keep the marketplace easy to browse and help buyers find items that fit them, every clothing item must include a Size.

When you choose an Item Type, the system automatically shows you one size dropdown that matches that category.

Examples:

  • Tops → Size – Tops

  • Skirts/Pants → Size – Numeric Bottoms

  • Shorts/Sweatpants → Size – Pants/Shorts

  • Jackets/Fleeces → Size – Outerwear

  • Shoes → Size – Footwear

  • Accessories → No Size – N/A

Simply choose the size that best matches your item. This ensures:

  • consistent sizing across the marketplace

  • accurate filtering for buyers

  • clean, predictable search results

No typing needed — just choose from the list.

💡 Tips for Sellers

  • Include the vendor’s original size tag in the description.

  • Mention if the item “runs small” or fits differently.

  • If the item has no size tag or is “One Size,” choose No Size – N/A and explain in the description.

  • If unsure, pick the closest match and add details.

  • For items with multiple size indicators, choose the dropdown size and add the secondary size in the description.

📣 How do I know when my item sells?

You’ll receive an order notification by email and inside your Seller Dashboard under Customer Orders.

Once you receive the order, you must contact the Buyer directly using the email or phone number provided.

Class Threads does not provide messaging on the platform.

💵 How and when do I get paid?

Please refer to the Seller Payout Policy.

Payouts are processed automatically after setting the Delivery Date on the order and the 48‑hour issue window closes.

🏡 LOCAL PICKUP (FREE)

How does local pickup work?

Local pickup is the default and preferred exchange method.

After the order is placed:

  • You contact the Buyer using the contact information provided

  • You and the Buyer agree on a meeting time

  • Choose a safe, public location (school campus, library, coffee shop, etc.)

  • Meet in person and complete the exchange

Local Pickup is always free for both buyers and sellers.

Important for Sellers

Buyers should only select Free Local Pickup if they are actually local to you. Your city and state appear on the List of Products page (school collection view), not on the product detail page. If a buyer selects Local Pickup but is not in your area, you may cancel the order.

Because payment processors do not refund transaction fees on canceled orders, a non‑refundable processing fee may be deducted from the buyer’s refund. This helps prevent misuse of the Local Pickup option and reduces unnecessary cancellations.

Can we meet at the school?

Yes. School pickup or drop‑off is allowed as long as both parties agree. This counts as free local pickup, not delivery.

What happens after the buyer accepts the item?

Once the buyer inspects and accepts the item in person, the sale is final.

Then:

  • Go to your Seller Dashboard

  • Open the order

  • Mark it as Delivered and enter the Delivery Date

This keeps your seller account in good standing.

When your item sells, it will automatically move into Disabled status in your Product List. This is normal — it means the item is sold and no longer available.

🚗 DELIVERY (SHIPPING OR LOCAL DROPOFF TO BUYER’S ADDRESS)

How does delivery work?

If the buyer selects Delivery at checkout, you must deliver the item to the buyer’s provided address.

You may choose:

  • Shipping through any carrier, or

  • Local drop‑off directly to the buyer’s address

Buyers choose Pickup or Delivery at checkout — sellers cannot change this.

What is the delivery credit?

When a buyer selects delivery, a delivery credit is added to the order. You earn this credit once delivery is fulfilled, and it is included in your next payout.

It helps offset your delivery costs, including:

  • Packaging

  • Shipping costs

  • Travel time

  • Gas

  • Any delivery‑related expenses

The delivery credit may or may not fully cover your actual delivery cost.

📦 SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS (IF YOU CHOOSE TO SHIP)

How do I ship an item?

If the buyer selects Delivery, you may ship the item instead of dropping it off locally.

Shipping is supported only within the continental United States.

  1. Package your item

  2. Buy your shipping label (any carrier)

  3. Ship the package

  4. Add tracking in your Seller Dashboard

  5. Keep your receipt until the buyer confirms delivery

Can I deliver the item somewhere other than the buyer’s address?

Not for delivery. Delivery always means to the buyer’s address.

If you want to meet somewhere else, the buyer must choose Free Local Pickup instead.

❗ CANCELLATIONS & ISSUES

Can I cancel an order?

You may cancel before shipping or delivery if:

  • The item is unavailable

  • The buyer’s address is invalid

  • You cannot complete the order

Buyer‑requested cancellations do not count against your account.

Repeated cancellations may affect your account standing.

Transaction Fees on Cancellations

Payment processors do not refund transaction fees on canceled orders. For this reason, a non‑refundable processing fee may be deducted from the refund amount when an order is canceled. This fee is not charged by Class Threads; it reflects the cost retained by the payment processor.

What if the buyer reports an issue?

Buyers must contact you within 48 hours of:

  • The carrier‑marked delivery date (if shipped), or

  • The time you confirm local delivery

You and the buyer work together to resolve the issue directly.

After 48 hours, all sales are final.

Does Class Threads handle refunds or disputes?

No. All refunds, returns, and issue resolution are handled directly between you and the buyer.

🧼 ITEM CONDITION

What condition should my items be in?

Items must be:

  • Clean

  • Free of stains, holes, odors, or heavy wear

  • Accurately described

  • Photographed clearly

  • Free of undisclosed alterations

Check pockets and hidden areas before listing.
